About Us

Cheryl Snyder | Owner

As I was working as a medical transcriptionist and wondering why, I realized it was time to focus on what I would really like to do. After having many conversations with my sister, I would say I think I should walk dogs. At first I dismissed the idea, because it didn’t fit the type of job that I thought I should be pursuing. I kept looking for those jobs, but I couldn’t let go of my dog walking idea. When I thought about it, I felt right. I grew up with dogs and cats, and it felt natural to be around them and always brought me great joy.

After realizing this, I knew I would be much happier doing what I would love and launched Shebby’s Pets in 2013. Shebby was my father’s nickname for me and a nice way to honor my dad.

I have been the proud Pet Mom to 4 sweet and loving Doberman Pinschers who were adopted from the Doberman Rescue League in New Hampshire. When adopting each Doberman, I took into account their individual history, background and past experience. This gave me valuable insight into their personalities and how best to integrate them into my family. Shatzy, Sam, Sasha and Kaiya quickly became another one of our kids and very important members of our family.

Being an animal lover and Pet Mom, I understand that you are entrusting me with a beloved member of your family. I take this responsibility very seriously and care for your pet as I would my own. I offer a high-quality, personalized pet care service that will provide you with a worry-free experience and peace of mind.

After years of success, it is clear that I made the right decision. I’m most proud of the rewarding relationships that have been built over the years and to have earned the trust of so many wonderful clients.

Meet My Team…My Family

All of our Dobermans have been amazing members of our family. I’m super grateful to my parents for adopting them from the New Hampshire Doberman Rescue. Shatzy was our first Doberman who cuddled with me at night and during thunderstorms. Sasha was our third doberman who enjoyed taking our shoes and loved to spin in circles for no reason. All of our pups were the sweetest, most playful and gentle souls. Dogs remind us busy humans how to come back to our truest nature; to be present, compassionate, light-hearted and loving.

Our Dobermans showed me strength, loyalty, companionship and lots of love. They were always doing something to make us laugh. With their large and distinctive personalities, they made amazing companions and best friends. My favorite memory of our fourth Doberman, Kaiya, was when I took her to a friend’s house on a warm July
night. Kaiya loved seeing all the people and loved the fenced back yard. She loved chasing the sticks we threw for her. She was so happy to run around and had so much energy.

At that time she was about eight years old. I saw her do something that I had never seen before. She did a happy dance on her back. It was so cute! It’s one of my best memories of her.

At first sight, Dobermans taught me that looks can be deceiving. Dobermans can be dogs that may look scary until they endlessly cuddle and love you. Pets offer every family a chance to learn unconditional love and acceptance every time they greet you at the door. It’s a great gift! As a kid, I remember Sam, our second Doberman and I routinely cuddled to go to sleep. He was as big as me so he would take up the entire bed but I didn’t care. He was my buddy, and I learned and felt nothing but love and protection from him every day.
